Across the grassy fields
And over the flowery hills
Through the woodland trees
And past man-made windmills
A fluttery buttery butterfly
Making an incredible journey
No matter how hard it may try
It will never to another be scary
The butterfly is painted with absolute beauty
Pink, white, purple, green and blue
The colours make it seem almost fruity
And in the light they become more true
Floating through the gusty breeze
Making its way in the world
Blowing around 90 degrees
In the wind, wanting not to be hurled

LOL..i always wondered ...do butterflies check to see how windy it is first before heading out.
As a kid running in the fields of clover i caught many and sadly ruined a set of wings or two by accident - for the colour comes off of their wings and sticks to your fingers...and when you set them free they can no longer fly
I never handled them much after that - loved fluttering through this poem,

Thankyou so much! Yes, it's sad that we can't handle butterflies because tey are so fragile, but at least we get to see their beauty! They are one of my favourite creatures! x

Thankyou! My little sister gave me the idea, she got a butterfly windchime in her christmas stocking and she told me to tell her a story about it, so i recited one from the top of my head! This poem came later! Thanks again!
