Destiny

Destiny she was named

Eternally meant to be mine

She lifts me with the love she gives

The same as fate is what her name meant

In embracing love as the tentacles of the octopi

Never expecting a thing from me for all she has given

Yoked to me until forever the sweetest girl named Destiny

Author notes

Acrostic Shadow poems are very simple; the first and last letter of each line spells something, usually the title of the poem. This is an Acrostic Shadow Step Poem.

  • Wonderful....

... wonderfully composed with brilliant lexis and imagery.

When I first read the title, I thought of "Acrostic Shadow " as a double acrostic with the one on the right side reading from bottom to top.

No one visiting Your site leaves with doubts. You are a Priestess of Phoebus, and an Ambassador of Helicon with full power of attorney from the Assembly of the Muses.

That dancing lady.. it's something I've never encountered before - she actually makes all the right moves to fit with whatever song I am listening to. From shouty stuff to whatever that horrible moaning man is doing on T.V in the other room.. amazing.

I like Shadow Acrostic things. I don't like writing them because it is very difficult to make the rhyming good. I wrote one once that rhymed. Actually.. I don't think it was a shadow. I think it just said one thing at the start and something different at the end.
    Desperate Dangerous, maybe.

Is the 'step' part of the 'This is an Acrostic Shadow Step Poem' why each line is a little longer than the one before?
I like that. I like that you usually explain your structure in your author notes. Educates me. I prefer to read the poems though, because they're better

WOW!! Really beautiful poem you have written here. I have written many acrostics and found those hard enough, but to do it at the end as well and in step fashion is a real talent. I bow to your greatness.

I was curious to find out what an acrostic shadow is
    and this amazes me
I must try it one day
i think it is pure brilliance to start and end a line
    with the same letter
and having those letters form a phrase
    excellent work
    I must say
