I HAD A Resolution..

This has been the best year of my life
I know that's not saying much at all
Yet this year was the year that I met you
The year that my heart chose to fall

I have been planning a new years resolution,
for the last couple months, I thought it was my solution
Yet I find my tongue tripping even with a shove
Not able to say "I think I'm in love."

My mind is perplexed for I know the conclusion
I'm sure that it's true, there is no confusion
Yet I'm scared you'll fade away, just like an illusion
If these words invade dreamland, unwelcome intrusion

So instead I'm wishing you a Happy New Year, On Time
So instead I'll bombard you with rhythem and rhyme
Until the day of this year when my plans in effect
Until the day that these words on my tongue hit "eject"

I'll be speaking up silent and contemplating the year
I'll be missing you deeply, wishing you were here
Waiting to hear your voice, hear you laugh, starting anew
The best way to start the new year off
Is every way with you. <3

    This is so sweet. Words wanted to be spoken but unsure of what the response so better to keep them unspoken until you are sure. My only comment to you is that...Time waits for noone and it passes all too quickly. Dont hold back the words too long or you may never be have a chance to speak them. Fear can sometimes keep you from having all you desire. Wonderfully written, rhyme and meter are well done. Thank you for sharing and Happy New Year..Dawn

    Great work I loved the fireworks and the flow of the poem, And Yes I'll admit the new year wasn't as bad as I expected but like always somethings never change so I'm not going to tell you you were right again
