Tradition

A two year tradition
of drugs and booze,
Gratefully broken
by a phone I can use.
Some are getting drunk;
others, stoned out of their mind,
However this year
not Skittles nor Gatorade,
but it's your love I find.
Only one true drug
can make me fly,
Wrapped up in your warm arms
gets me high.
Deja vu of Deja vu
Shattered this year...

by the voice of you.

Tis true that a voice of a friend can lead you out of the destruction of ones self its not fear that leads us to these ends but fear that keeps us there. With someone to help someone to care you don't fear because you know they will be there for you if you fall and help you get to the very place you wished to be. I might not understand these cercumstances because i have never been there but I do understand the fact that you need someone to help you along. That is what really helps us all through.

Amazing how the sound of a friendly/caring voice can break the downward spiral of self destruction. Glad you found something to brighten your life hunni. Everyone deserves friendship.

    Poignant

It's always nice to know there will be someone on the other end of the phone just at the right time. I'm glad to know you have that certain "someone" who makes you feel high when you're in their arms.

An obviously personal write with feeling and candor. It's also well written with great use of punctuation and grammar.

    Well done.
