As a mother walked with her young baby son
Taking pride in the little one as they were strolling
As she walked across the street in moments the damage had been done
The life of Little Timmy had so sadly been stolen.
The mother was screaming in grief stricken despair
He has killed my baby, He has killed my son
The man driving was so unconsciously impaired
Tell me Big Tim was the drink worth this one?
The stroller was so mangled and drenched with blood
From an innocent child that did not have a chance to live
From the eyes of the mother the tears flowed like a flood
As yellow stripes surrounded the stroller for evidence to give.
She tried to protect him with all she had
And we all know that Little Timmy is in heaven
His innocent life had been taken and oh,so sad
Because of a tragedy that happened of August 15th 1977.
Big Tim was named in prison as a baby killer by name
The pain that he also has to endure one cannot comprehend
He changed his life around to help others from doing the same
His heart, soul, and mind will also have to mend.
As Big Tim was imprisoned and had so much time to think
His father was also confined for a similar crime
Tell me gentlemen was the freedom worth the drink?
Was it really worth the lives that you took in their prime?

Hi Wilma,
Wilma. That was my foster mothers' name. Always liked that name.
Thank you for being willing to write this poem. Wading through the depths and writing is indeed a profound and daunting task. I feel you touched areas that needed to be addressed, esp. from my perspective. There is a black spider crawling in the hearts of many, weaving a web that is just waiting to catch the life of an innocent. It a spider called Drinking & Driving. I hope they recognize the web for what it is before it is too late. Thank you for your contribution. It is very appreciated. Peace & Love.

Hard as it was, you certainly even had time to use the rhyme with it. I am glad I read this:
This part:
'As Big Tim was imprisoned and had so much time to think
His father was also confined for a similar crime
Tell me gentlemen was the freedom worth the drink?
Was it really worth the lives that you took in their prime?'
.,.............. Was the best part, I think. It jelled it all together.
Well written to include the vitals and even MORE! It was tough..I know. Thank you for ministering this way!!!!!! Blessings, CookieZeal -

Tragic
Hello Wilma
This was indeed a tragic tale. You have captured the pain and anguish in youe words. An innocent life was tragically lost on that day. Lives were forever changed because of someone's careless drinking. You have touched my heart with your words more than you could ever know. My son was killed in May of 1975, although it wasn't a driver that did it. My was was beaten to death by my then girlfriend's new boyfriend. He did less than 2 years in jail for my son's murder. If you would like to see a poem I wrote go to my collections ANGEL VERSES and look for "My Angel Son" Thank you
~Johnny
