Growing Up

Growing up, Lost inside a childish dream
Of being better than who you are.
Bravery, put aside every single night
When you succumb to the calling of someone else…

When I grow up what will I be?

Hearts drying up, Someone else is inside you
You feel better than you are.
Tragedy, are you really as alive
As you pretend to be?

When I grow up who will I be?

Small town, small town dreams seem to deceive
The syndromes taking over me.
Night time, its all we’ve got just to feel awake
Because my tears don’t matter…

I’m growing taller.

Good job! I love the descriptions you use to convey your point. It's a true question we all ask ourselves, "When I grow up who will I be?" Some people of are an older age, and they still ask themselves this question. Quite ironic. Wonderful job! Good luck in the contest!
