you saw me when i was small
held me in the cradle of your arms
you looked at me with love in heart
and knew no bounds for the love to start
you were the one who couched me here
who whispered heavens words in my ear
but then you took that one small light
and extinguished it with all your might
one little puff lead to many
till one day far you laid amung plenty
plenty of you who chide and scold
who die for reasons not quite cold
the little light that burned for you
slowing down to your misstepped tune
tears would fall when the message was heard
crys were utterted when the message was earned
you were the woman i saw in the light
buut a couple puffs here scuffed out its might
you were the woman i looked up to
the woman whos life seemed so intune
my grandmother in my heart and mind
yet falling away cause of mistakes from behind
you had let it go...you had changed your life..
but those little puffs came back in strike
they took your lungs, your living breath
till only cold heart in bed was left
goodbye and good luck in the heaven you told
goodbye gladys
its you i will always hold.
