Our Half Of The World's Wake

It's such a dark night
on top of this Blue Hill
New moons just don't light
the wildnerness so well
I carry on my back
The thoughts I had in tact
The ones that made us laugh
the ones that made us crack

Well I'll just take them all
and toss'em in the sky
I'll watch the light ones fall
and the rest go on and fly
There they go so far
they just resemble stars
and I play this guitar
and sing of what they are

Well here I go,
I made the stars in the sky
so maybe I can tell you reasons why
I'm so in love with one who can't decide
I guess that I'll just wait; you cannot hide.
It's getting late this night.
I'll just say one more line.
Here I'll end this cut.
I'll talk to you
when our half of the world wakes up.

I liked this a lot. It brought back memories of being in the Boundary Waters and sleeping out on the rocks underneath the stars in my sleeping back. It's so beautiful and peaceful up there, but cold and uncomfortable as well.

This was a really pretty poem, the rhyming was almost perfect, it could even be a song.

Thanks a lot! I initially got an idea from who knows where, but as I left it on my desktop untouched, I heard a song made by one of my friends and got inspiration for the rhythm.
