Inside a Serengeti Dawn

"Inside a Serengeti Dawn" (AngelEyes323)

The moon rested under a star-lit sky
Branching into a treasured light
Two bodies spent, clinging to a Serengeti dawn

Birds hovering in tender melody
Etching the warmth of the sun
Kiss my lips once more..inside a Serengeti dawn

(Chorus)

Oh, let us be as one
ninakupenda (I love you)
My heart is enraptured
Mamalang melodia yalla (listen to the melody)
Oh, push the world away
Drench your life upon my spirit

(Chorus)

The moon rested under a star-lit sky
Branching into a treasured light
Two bodies spent, clinging to a Serengeti dawn
Inside a Serengeti dawn
A Serengeti dawn

-------------------------

Serengeti Moon (Dan Fogelberg)

The grass is high and the work is done
Send the sun to his sleeping place
Now we'll dance and make love beneath the Serengeti moon

The Gods are laughing their twinkling eyes
Shine on us in the clear night sky
Take my hand...let us walk beneath the Serengeti moon

(Chorus)
Oh, let the music play
Mamalang melodia yalla (listen to the melody)
Fill your heart with joy and mirth
Thabishing pelo tsa lona (let your hearts rejoice)
Oh, let the rain clouds come
Mameland melodie yalla
Spill their life upon this earth (Whoa-oh)

(Chorus)

The grass is high and the work is done
Send the sun to his sleeping place
Now we'll dance and make love beneath the Serengeti moon
The Serengeti moon
The Serengeti moon

Author notes

My lyrics are a "continuation" based on "Serengeti Moon", by Dan Fogelberg, one of my very favorite classic rock artists.

Awesome song Kath! You should write more of these. It really shows your diversity. I've not been your way in a while (actually not got a chance to read faves in awhile) I've been missing out! Excellent work here! Blessings, Gypsy

Oh. This is a neat little double poem that you have here. I like them. I'm not sure what a serengeti dawn or moon is but I'm guessin it's like a season or a cycle or something. Your words were very soft and gentle and your poem images flowed very nicely from them.

Ooh are they zulu words within this?? I loved this and took me into an African dawn, I am off there in the New Year and this just makes me want it to come around sooner!
