The night has hushed leaving a quiet still
the torrid beast has blown right by.
Empty clouds rest upon grey solemn hills
but all is calm within the mackerel sky.
The mighty storm with a voice so deep
lashed its rain upon my windowsill.
Loud thunder cracks which broke my sleep
cold whistling winds screamed out a chill.
A frenzied torch with bright colours ablaze
danced the skyline and stayed until.
Its crimsons forks turned to a misty haze
leaving the night hushed and so very still.

Fabulous write Shaz. You have a style all of your own. Quite distinctive, quite superb. All your pieces flow beautifully.. This being no exception. Well written. Good luck in the contest.
