Summer

Summer

A gentle breeze tugging, pleading,
Calling through the window,
Why stay inside with assigned reading?
Golden rays dance in front of mischievous eyes,
Why wait, they say.
This warm day is one to prize.
The lulling songs of a bright-coated bird
Waft in, tantalizingly sweet
Upon the ears through which it was heard.
A bell rings,
Joyous shouts resound,
As people celebrate.
And soon there is no sound,
No noise, without reason or rhyme.
No sounds but those of sweet Summertime.

Please tell me what you think

I really liked this. Made me wish it was summer already! I especially liked the imagery of the ending-it helped strengthen the wistful mood of this piece and really made it stand out more. Great job!
