Fairytale Ironies

Once Upon,
in a poignant time,
emotions scampered
(between Princess and her Prince)
back and forth, to and fro,
palpable and obvious.
Above all joyous.

But wickedly did arrive
a scheming dark Witch
that not a soul did ever hear of,
'sides the Prince. So allured,
he doth took his blade,
to sever Princess' ties.
And doth took his steed,
bearing Witch off into the horizon.

Not a glance back toward Princess,
left neglected in her tower.
Surrounded merely by Forgotten,
thrust aside.

The frogs were all a croaking-
"It's so hard for Princess to pretend
she's alright,"
(For all do know, a Princess
be no more than a pretty shell.
Permitted only to be
void of emotion.)
"but easier than explaning,
why she was so not."

And Princess could not
be consoled. Not
comforted even by her frogs,
all a croaking in her favor,
up from their pond.

Not 'til one day
into the Kingdom did ride,
A Knight in Shining Armor!
Mysterious and alluring,
able to coax Princess down
from encampment in her tower.

And all her proud Subjects,
along with her frogs,
do heartily pray- the Witch,
and betrayal, scorn by dear Prince,
will be good and well Forgotten,
as well cast aside.
"Let us live Happily Ever After!"
chorus voices rang,
"Good Tidings this Knight does bring,
and Love."

So goodbye we say to Princess,
and her tragic fairytale,
The End.

definitly odd, loved the beginning, and the flow was great, and the choice of wording as well, but the end sounded rushed like you were trying to end it early, at least thats how it sounded when i read it out loud, but you captured the story very well, thanks for entering.
