Leibstandarte

Where art war don't rest
Arms brothers streamings way all
What best I like that
Beast east west don't care not there
Down fall all guard until end.

Author notes

0: A Tanka [( ) - Panzer or otherwise]

1: qv. "Leibstandarte Drei", http://allpoetry.com/poem/3044338

2: The author prefers to go not here
into the wherefore and wise of the origins
of this poem*, in so far as they concern
a past-life of his, and none other than those
whom were therewith concerned need do aught
but take it for what it is, a poem about
dedication, whether to (an) art or otherwise.

*which does not imply he will not respond to comments thereon, but rather that he wishes not to dwell on said past-life.

2: Another of his poems, "Through The Woods Went They", may be referenced in that regard. ( http://allpoetry.com/poem/2525764 ).

I really did not get this poem. Well after I read this poem a couple times I have a better understanding of this poem. I am not really sure if your talking about war or not but the poem reads good

Thanks to your impetus, I shall also shortly write a "L.. Vier", which will be ... hmmm ...

All the Fun of the Fair enough.

I too am not satisfied with the piece.
The idea of "Artistic Brother's in Arms" is a bit obscure. I have written a "Leibstandatre Zwei", as well as the linked poem, "Stranger in the Woods", but ... thank you for considering it. I hope to come up with a more acute Haiku/Tanka regarding this matter.

Cool stuff. You're question above, the SS I believe, or if you mean their creed, the whole aryan empire and all of the weird religious stuff himmler did in the hills. The poem is extremely interesting, showing to me the enveloped state the nazi's found themselves in, and the attitude felt. Good stuff,
    All the best,
    Ed

Art not only for Art's Sake

The SS is used (mainly because in a past life, and that strangely, I was an SS man. But not a Nazi - long story, Believe it or Not!) as a metaphor for dedication to a cause, which in this lifetime is Artistically Articulated rather than devastatedly European.
