lonely

I passed him tonight
this lonely man
walking the night away

I had a smile ready
and my mouth chewed;
'Merry Christmas'
but he just looked at me
uninvitingly

so I walked on
and said nothing
to
the only man
I'd seen
even though he must
be lonely

to be walking
alone
on
Christmas night

    This poem makes you wonder what goes on in people's lives. We all face our own demons and problems. Interesting piece here and great job!
