disease
taker of life

Author notes

Cinquain is a short, usually unrhymed poem consisting of twenty-two syllables distributed as 2, 4, 6, 8, 2, in five lines. It was developed by the Imagist poet, Adelaide Crapsey.

Another form, sometimes used by school teachers to teach grammar, is as follows:

Line 1: Noun
Line 2: Description of Noun
Line 3: Action
Line 4: Feeling or Effect
Line 5: Synonym of the initial noun.

    How true. Cancer leaves those it affects with few words, and I think you have chosen the right ones.

    This makes you sit back and really ponder the impact of disease. You did a great job summing it up with this form. The image lingers long after the words leave your lips. Excellent.

    Wonderful...funnily enough I have been trying to write cinquain and a couple of other forms tonight. I really admire your talent. This piece is perfectly descriptive of the effect both emotionally and physically of the dreaded "Jack Dancer" (Aussie slang)

    Short and to the point. I can see why they use it for school children. Here you have excellent word economy
    and you show a correlation between depression and cancer.

    This too... I have read before
    first it was so short .. i didnt really understand
    but when i read your description
    of how the poem is formed
    i am amazed by how much you have to teach
    you are a really good poet
    no doubt about that
    i have still yet to read more
    and i'm trying to do it all today
    cuz I really want to see all the types of poetry there is
    and the easiest way .. is going through yours

    ya...i hate cancer...well doesn't evrybody..but i am just terrified of any disease since i lost my step-sister...my favorite one...her name was Danielle..she was awesome..but cancer...well...you know what i mean... and this poem is really good..i can see that you got the pattern not too cold...and not too warm..but JUUUUST RIGHT!!haha...for a dark poem..it is wonderful...keep posting stuff cuz i just enjoy and love reading them...BYE!!!
