this woman by my side

here i sit
in the darkness of my own world
love is just a word
a word with no meaning
all love lost
all love gone
until that one night
when love showed its self
slicing through my darkness
like a blazing fire
in the night
it appeared in the form of a woman
a woman whose beauty is unmeasurable
hair as striking as the sun
both blinding and brilliant
flowing like a river to the sea
her green eyes
sparkling like diamonds they appear inviting and sweet
yet dangerous and intoxicating
if your not careful
you can lose yourself in them forever
lips so red like precious gems
and a smile
that can melt away
fear and sorrow
leaving you with a sence
of wonder and excitment
yes love is forever
this woman by my side

    you are a romantic , aren't you?

i was told once, that love, is just a word..that forever changed my thoughts of what love was..sad to say it was my husband of 23 yrs at the time that told me that..still married, but his words remain with me, and it's never been the same...much more to that story..but i'll spare ya! lol

you, however, have written of love beautifully, through your thoughts of one lady..how blessed she is!

    peace

Except for some typos...Maybe it should be..'This Woman by My Side' since you are speaking of a singular woman and not many women by your side. lol. That's what drew me to the poem. Your imagery is very good, and it would flow excellently when the grammar mistakes are corrected. Sorry, I don't critique grammar too often, but this is starting out to be a lovely write. I would love to see it shine. Very romantic.
