What is Life?

A Philosopher once asked this:
What is life to you?

A Soldier answered thus:
Life is a set of rules;
Governed and Controlled.

A Merchant replied:
Life is survival;
Getting rich is a must.

A Musician spoke:
Life is music,
drifting and flowing.

An Ambitous Young Man said:
Life is a window of oppurtunity,
You must grab it before it flutters away.

A scientist put in:
Life is merely an accident,
A coincidence, a guess.

Then a Child argued:
Life is none of these things!
Oh, It is so much more!
Life is full of meaning,
Full of purpose,
Full of light!

As the sea flows and sparkles from the sunlight,
So does a child grow and shine!
As a tree ages,
So does a person age and grow wise!
And as a caterpillar breaks free of its coccoon - and as a simple rock passes through a furnace and changes into gliterring gold,
So do souls pass through trials and come out, moulded by God's hands, into a lovely creation.

Please tell me what you think

    This is such a great poem! It really makes you think, and I liked how you had so many different people with different views answer this one question stated at the start. A very unique piece, and a great portrayal of how much a child really can teach us. Excellent.
