In the shadows
I see a face
I recognize it
It's such a disgrace
It has long hair
maybe light brown
But she looks like
She's crying on the ground
She has blue eyes
And tears falling
She looks so sad
I hear her heart calling
She looks so weak
So fragile to touch
But I just want
To help her so much
She can't get up
As she hides in the shadow
I look the other way
And stare out the window
I look back
And she looks deep into my eyes
It's almost like
She's behind a disguise
I turn on the light
So I can see
But the one that looks back
Looks just like me
I'm in the bathroom
Then I look in the mirror and see
That girl in the shadow
Was always me
