Bare foot I walk
through nourishing soil,
as emerald gazes
look about in wonder
Admiring blossoming roses
from seeds planted over time;
occasional weeds sprout
and tilling need be done
Amazing beauty
births far and wide,
yet I ponder
on this garden's limits
Old rebirths each year
accompanied by anew;
and still wilted death
inevitable at season's end
Fluttering down endless aisles
spirit, wisdom and knowledge
all around; though something
changed, different......missing
Emotional sanctuary
becomes asphyxiated on a
twisted kaleidoscopic over growth
being forcibly restrained
Here in this garden's center
I sit in silent thought
at Love's fountain
flipping through mental pages
Reflecting back
in search of answers
Reliving the birth
of each delicate bud
Sweet floral scents
gently sweep past lips
releasing whispered sighs
of love and appreciation
Refreshing spring rains
spill from the heavens
humming a heart's aching melody
of unanswered questions
Thoughts and feelings folded
in the petals of this garden's beauty
rendering me near helpless
in my decision making
Standing at garden's edge
I look past the horizon
gazing upon the out stretch
of green canvased hills
Is there another place,
another garden,
perchance a flowerbed
in need of expansion?
Where untouched soils
cry for seedlings to cradle?
Where the rains kiss
budding petals with love?
Where the weeds
are far and few between?
Where the soils are tilled
continuously with unconditional love?
And as I watch the sun
set once more from
garden's edge,
I wonder....
