Owner's Thoughts
My dog likes taking walks
And eating lots of food
He is loyal to me always
And hardly ever rude
He is active, yet he's lazy
And sleeps with me in bed
Sometimes when I wake up
He’s right next to my head
He tears up the garbage
Whenever he gets mad
He lays down in the corner
Whenever he is sad
He barks way too loudly
When he hears the faintest noise
The whole damn house is scattered
With his doggie toys
No matter what trouble he can find
He is my very best friend
No matter what has happened
He is faithful to the end
Dog's Thoughts
My owner sure is friendly
His love for me is real
I’m glad he was the one
with whom I closed the deal
He gives me lots of treats
And walks me round the block
He rarely screams and yells
Unless I chew his sock
For some unknown reason though
He takes up most of my bed
But he knows exactly when
I need that pat upon my head
His goodness overrides
Anything he does that's bad
I bet that I’m the very best friend
That he has ever had

I had to smile at this poem because as any pet owner will know, animals do own us rather than the other way round and this is quite apparent in the dog’s thoughts when he claims the bed as his. I sometimes think it is quite amazing what we tolerate from our pets, especially dogs, but that is because they are a loved member of the family. The rhyme in the “owner’s thoughts” is good, though a little out in the dog’s thoughts but then it would have to be an exceptional dog to think in rhyme and in stanza one it could possibly be due to a difference in our accents! The flow makes for easy reading and I think this poem could have been much longer and I would still have enjoyed it as viewing the tale from both perspectives adds interest. This poem is a delight to read.
Perhaps it is presumptuous of me but I have made a couple of suggestions for your rhyme which also takes out the need for using the word “sure” in two consecutive lines, but of course the poem is yours and you should only change it if you wish to.
Thanks for your entry.

Realy something to learn from. Nice conversation thoughts I like these simple rhyming scemes as they are not always easy to keep them coming in these long different verses.
