A Conversation Between Logic and Irony

‘Eyes are windows to the soul.’
‘That’s bullshit.’
‘They let me know when I’m safe.’
‘Superficial.’
‘What I should say.’
‘Shut up.’
‘What you’re feeling.’
‘I don’t feel.’
‘Then tell me why-’
‘Naïveté.’
‘Your eyes are guarded with ice-’
‘Imaginary.’
‘If there’s nothing inside to hide?’

‘It’s the way you look at the world.’
‘The world bores me.’
‘It scares you.’
‘What a joke.’
‘You think you’re empty.’
‘I am.’
‘And everything’s pressing against you.’
‘Doesn’t it?’
‘And because you don’t want to crack-’
‘My heart’s of steel.’
‘You empty yourself.’
‘Nothing in me to begin with.’
‘But your heart has to go somewhere.’
‘I never had a heart.’
‘Camouflage.’
‘What?’
‘You dye your heart-’
‘That’s ridiculous.’
‘With invisible paint.’
‘Preposterous!’

‘Don’t you miss the world of colour?’
‘No.’
‘Or is it easier when it’s all white?’
‘Nothing is easy.’
‘I see.’
‘What do you see?’
‘In all that white...’
‘Yes?’
‘You lose yourself.’
‘That’s impossible.’
‘You’re looking at yourself.’
‘Why would I?’
‘And you want to reach out-’
‘You-’
‘Then there’re your eyes.’
‘What about my eyes?’
‘Glass won’t let you in.’
‘Glass is easily shattered.’
‘That’s exactly my point.’

    There's this brevity about it.

    at this part:

    "‘I see.’
    ‘What do you see?’
    ‘In all that white...’
    ‘Yes?’
    ‘You lose yourself.’
    ‘That’s impossible.’"

i was suddenly loss at who spoke what; ^^
unless they switched roles or something.

i like the form and structure of the whole poem,
    and the feel of it.
    its a fresh idea.
    keep writing!

my god, this poem was on my blog, and you could've tagged or something, and this is so... damned formal.

Kay anyway, I so get your drift. It's probably the line, 'What do you see?' that throws you off track, since for once the second speaker (Irony) is the one doing the inquiring. I pondered about it a bit too but decided that it was fitting that Irony had to take a fall from its high and mighty throne.

And yup, I am most assuredly going to keep writing,

      muchos thankies
