Opulent Oblivion

Luxuriating lazily in opulent oblivion,
complient and mindless
playing at humanity in a beautiful prison.
distracted by the delusion of living,
by the pleasure of pain 
a moments contemplation
dawn that chaos abounds,
that the world is odious,
that cynicism is in fact a blessing,
and that it's time now for our generation
to awaken and remember how we wanted it to be
when we had the clean minds of children
and we knew how good a life could be.
