Spring

Ask me not what makes me happy
just except that it may be
and let be
like the rolling hills of yesterday
blend unto the dawn
while the raising sun
takes pleasure from the morn.

Ask me not which drink I sip to smile
just except that what may be
will be
even when the cup runs dry
for no drink can turn the tides of time
like breaking waves
upon breaking backs.

Ask me not the rhythm of my laugh
just except that it may hurt
and let ride
into the grassy nole
while the dirt molds between the lines of shadows
for let me say, for we are friends,
beginnings only come from ends

Please tell me what you think
