Pariah!
Devoid of dreams
Perchance to face reality?
No more than a placebo- a farce of a being.
Words upon pages: no more than that,
Evoking nothing.
I am monotony.
Tedium!
Hollow inside.
My heart beats its rhythm.
Its words escape my lips.
I desire everything extraordinary,
Am captivated by everything extraordinary
Dream of accomplishment:
Immortality!
Transcending the confines of my era,
To remain, eternal, frozen in time,
But this is no more than a reverie.
My mind, my shackles,
Eternally confined
To
this.

    Stunning

This is a wonderful poem of need. Be it your own or just an expression of a need you may have experienced once.

The free verse style suits this poem perfectly and the language choice enhances the read.

The title is short and strong in the context of this poem and also perks the curiousity.

Well written - let the ink flow and your fingers dance.

I think that your free verse is beautiful! You write sincerely and the ending emphasises what you say in its simplicity. (*thinking* This comment makes sense to me...I hope it does to you too ) At any rate, I applaud you. Good luck with the contest!
