He has always been and will always be
He created the stars, the moon, and the sea
All-powerful, yet loving and kind
To comprehend such greatness is beyond our feeble minds
He made it possible for us to exist
The miracle of life - nothing is more amazing than this
He watched us form and watched us grow
His love for us we can’t possibly know
We can talk to him any time we please
just the thought of this puts my heart at ease
He listens to us when we pour our hearts
He can know what we will say before we even start
He discerns our feelings when we can’t explain
He helps ease our souls of sorrow and pain
He cares about our happiness
He feels for us when we are in distress
He loves us so much he gave his only son
So that our freedom from sin might be won
He gives us the chance at everlasting life
Free from sorrow, death, pain, and strife
He is my heavenly father, he is my truest friend
I know I will continue to put my trust in Jehovah, until the end

Very loving lament for God. The rhyming was smooth in most of the poem but sometimes it felt a bit forced. I really do not like the lovey dovey and hyper-optimistic poetry out there so I guess it was a little hard for me to get into this, but its not bad at all. Thank you for your entry and good luck!

This is what I needed to hear. I was distressed because publishamerica declined my manuscript, but I really didn't like their company anyway. Maybe it was Jehovah helping me out. I thought this was good just sometimes the lines were too long or too short.
"He cares about our happiness
He feels for us when we are in distress"
the first line of this just broke the flow in that part of the poem. Thanks for sharing! -

This is a very beautiful expression on how you see your God, Jehovah. Each God, each spirit that we dwell on and love, brings something different to our soul and our hearts. To know that the one who made you, is a friend, is a beautiful comfort when times are hard.

This poem speaks the truth. Jehovah will always be our one true friend. Like it says in the book of James "Draw close to God and he will draw close to us". I truly believe that. I enjoyed the read!
