sunrays on my desk

my skin feels
the morning breeze
flowers and fragrance

sunrays on my desk

happiness pervades
a moment of discovery
passion
and freedom

the pen
says 'write...
preserve... '

the heart
says 'smile,
and that's enough'.

Keeping it simple is the way to do it morning sunshine is one of the sweetest little pleasures I've ever found. It is quiet light and a peaceful tickle with its silent dances... and the smile lasts all day, even after the sun has been hidden behind clouds or becomes harsh

Beautiful write Sau. s and best wishes always... ~Genie~

The poems on your author page really touched me. This one is beautiful too. I remember now why you are one of my favorites. Not that I would forget, so much as I know for sure your beauty has no bounds.

    a perfect moment

What is a happy life, but a memory of happy moments? Thank you for this little blissful observation - preserved as a sketch and a smile.

    basking in your happiness

It's a wonderful feeling when you can be happy, no strings attached, no prerequisites for it. I hope that, as in your final stanza, it can be preserved with a smile and a lighthearted memory.

For me, it is difficult to naturally be happy, simply because it's foreign to me. I wonder sometimes how it would be if I didn't have to force my smiles, if optimism just came without me having to feign it. I am trying to use the proactive approach and, except for a couple of days, so far, it has been working. I hope it continues that way.

Anyway, I do love this poem and how it has brightened my spirit. This is just what I need after being cloistered (against my will, at that) for two days. I hope you are well.

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

    This is beautiful.
A common theme amongst us writers! I always feel that I should capture happy/important moments of my life in words or in paintings --- But sometimes all I want to do is sit back and enjoy it all.

    Nice write.
    Thank you for sharing,

    Smiling...

This is such a gentle poem.
I think that there isn't much to add to your thought and words. Just sit back and smile

    Listen to the heart....

Just as you can never truly catch a sunray as it is, you can never catch that feeling of "happy just because" and preserve it. You can only live it for the duration of its life and welcome the next sensation with open heart.

Thanks for this sharing, not of your moment, but of the reminder for each of us to live our moments AS each moment.

Be ever blessed and bright, Rod
