Constrict My Soul

Brushing my hand against the wall, sensations swirling out my fingertips.
Water dripping down the wall as if from an invisible source.
Strings of salt burst from the liquid, clinging to all that is near and far.
Attaching, mutating, invading, dividing the very nourishment of our lives.

Vines struggle to constrict the growing plaster and paper.
Clenching to the cold paint, a lone strand takes the lead.
So small, yet so powerful, she loops the wall,
Taking it in one squeeze. The deadly poison from one micro life.

You are the salt. You are the vine.
You are the poison. You constrict my soul.
