Somewhere in time
Lost in melodies
Song and rhyme,
You were there
Walking with me
Touching my heart
So silently~
You knew my weakness...
My need for peace
Yet you offered me
No release~
Yesterday meshed
Melted within...
Reminding me over
and over again...
I reached out
Pushed the hand to re hear
The melody of a memory
Keeping you near~
Author notes
I just thought this old time phonograph looked so fitting to go with the poem...

This brings memories to me, too... there's times when an old song would send me into daydreams of a past incident or person. I love the expressiveness of this poem ...beautiful writing. and yes, the picture does go well with it, kinda adds to the moment.
Gosh, it's been awhile since I visited your work.. glad I did this morning

The melody of a memory

beautiful,smooth,flowy wrt.
The old ponograph picture fits the poem very well. I think, it really sets your write off! I enjoyed the content, flow, the presentation and of course; very fond of your wrting style. Thanks for taking me on a quick mental journey. I did that myself with old music yesterday(that is now on shiny new CD's) instead of records, 8 track tapes and cassettes. I really time dated myself NOW! God Bless and thanks for brightening my day! I try to make a circle of favorites as quickly as I can. Yet always adding new writers. Thus the list is very long and take me a while. I'll be back! Thanks again!

Isn't it true how a melody can contain a memory. This was beautifully written. Very good rhythm and rhyme. I enjoyed this.

It does go very well with the poem...but the poem is the masterpiece here! I love the words, the smoothness of the read, makes me feel a bit meloncholy!!! Lovely write Susan!

This was super-duper fantasticalistic
I made a new word... anyway I LOVED it. It had a very sing-songy quality to it that really played into the idea of hearing the "melody"
My FAV part of the whole thing...
You knew my weakness...
My need for peace
Yet you offered me
No release~
It's so simple but it's just right out there "Hey! If you knew my weakness you shoulda gone easy on me!" Anyway, GREAT WRITE! HUGS -
This is lovely dear. Very beautiful. Somewhat of a bittersweet melancholy read, but tender and heartful nonetheless. I enjoyed reading it. 'Tis quite the beautiful read as well. HUGZ for you ladeee.

Susan, this is absolutely beautiful:) I felt the heart-break in this, and I adore the way you ended it:)
I have to agree with you, all memories do have melodies, each unique in sound and feel, just like the memory itself:)
Love ya,

So melancholy, a melody of longing. Painfully filled with memories of yester years. Too many emotions flood the senses.
Wonderful. Hugs ya tight. -
Excellent! Really enjoyed it!
I love this one, Sis! Very nice rhythm to it...I especially liked "the melody of a memory keeping you near". The pic' of the phonograph reminds me of the logo for RCA Victor (a dog listening to a phonograph).
Luv Ya, Sis!
