A Blue Bird of Happiness

When things are worse, than can be imagined.
And reality is more, than you can possibly bare.
A tiny spark of sheer fantasy flies into action,
soothing the psyche, of hopeless shattered despair.

Some coin it a stressful temporary insanity.
I consider it basic human survival of the fit!
A heart travels from it's prison into fantasy,
finding love and compassions to agony's lament.

It's defiance toward a hatred of demented evil,
a humanistic clutch of the phantom cloak of faith.
The child shine of innocence in a face of upheaval.
Finding joys in surviving, an inhumane stain disgrace.

Author notes

Actually ,this was written about a child survivor of a Nazi concentration camp. How coping is clinging to tiny rays of finding hope where ever the survivalist can.

My gal you are deep. Do we ever cling to hope? And are poets but dreamers? think I am in love with you.

    SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

There is always a ray of hope if one looks hard enough and even in the smallest, simplest things is where we will most often find that hope and faith. This is so touching my dear Suseann

Suseann, this is amazing! Love the subject, the verbiage, and all the wonderful imagery you provide a thirsty mind. No matter the extent or depth of darkness, the light shall ever prevail! I adore the message in this one, and can't wait to pass it along to our little friend! What a beautiful job you have done with this heartfelt piece, Susanne. I especially love the second stanza, as it drives the point home ever so eloquently. Beautifully penned, my friend. I Love It!!! Much love and laughter to you...

    Suseann,

I got in this mostly about the emotions of being overwhelmed perhaps shutting down kind of like

going numb or just feeling overly tired and being drained out from all the flood of things in life.

Yet in the end perhaps the peace wich comes in time again and things seeming to be okay again.

Hope I was close some place in this gave it a try anyhow. Love, Me  ♥
