Cinderella flicked her cigarette lighter;
the flames jumped up, but her eyes shone brighter.
She was tired of sitting by the fire all day,
with everything going her sisters’ way.
-
Set things on fire my dear, look how they burn;
you’re having fun now, the tables have turned.
You’re in control my dear, don’t let it go,
there are still more people to overthrow.
-
Cindy was raped on the night of the ball;
listen to me and I’ll tell you all--
the prince fucked her right outside on the ground,
she screamed and struggled but no one heard a sound
-
Visit the castle dear, and bring your knife;
stab him until you’ve taken his life.
Cut off his penis to hang on your wall,
and let it hang there as a warning to all.
-
And the step-mother who damned you to hell,
made you scrub floors, and haul from the well,
dressed you in rags with no second thought,
her own vengeance she has wrought.
-
A rope, my dear to tie round her throat,
tighten it until you can safely gloat.
Revenge, my dear, is ever so fun,
when you see the results of all you have done.
-
Poor Cinderella put the gun to her head;
one single shot and its over, she’s dead.
Poor Cinderella, it drove her round the bend
so “happily ever after” is not her real end.

Very well written, but Oh so dark.
Last semester I had to come up with a short movie script of reconstituted Cinderella - I could have done with this poem then. I just had to read to the end. Well done.
