Hydrologic cycle

Missing image
The cycle unceasing
Transform in phases
The rain on land
The flow in river
Hiding through aquifer

Moving in snails pace
All water flow
Destined for sea
Rays emanating from sun
Vaporize water surface
Three fourth from ocean
Partly from land
Transpiring from leaves

The journey takes a water drop
Through many sojourns
The sea draws water
From land through big rivers
Only to give its share back

Floating clouds
Release droplets
Many of them sprinkled on seas
A little for the land
The ocean is filled to brim
Yet its water unused

A land so skewed
Lets the water flows down
Leaving plateaus starved

The cycle continue
Uninterrupted through ages
Frequently favors few
Keeping rest in despondency

This cycle sustains life
When it is generous
Land smiles
Multiplying a smile
On yellow leaf and drying lip

This is a beautiful poem . . . and I love that you have chosen to write about something that many people miss the beauty of. I also commend you for writing about it in such a straightforward and factual way. A lovely change from the usual poetry I see around.

    Stay smiling and keep writing

Very nice piece and the sustenance of life, yes water, without it we wither, this is special because it speaks to the millions who struggle to fnd water every day, we in modernised countrys take it for granted, Thanks for sharing this piece
