People always come to me with thoughts in their head
Thinking I can alleviate a lost and troubled heart
They ask me, "What should I do to make him see?
What should I say to make this one look my way?"
And I want to tell them that it isn't worth the pain
And the hurt and anguish that they will feel
If they get their hearts trampled on
By inconsiderate jerks who know no better.
But I can never make myself say those words
I can never force them past my head
Because I remember what it was like
To lose my heart to a guy that I wanted
And even though he has shut me out
I will always remember the way that I felt
When I saw him there was no one else
Just him and I in our own little world
So I tell them what I think, what might help them out
Watch them walk away, positive he is their own
I just sit in my own little world, reminiscing
About how I used to think of my own special guy
Now I have these memories, and no matter what I say
I will always remember the good time when things went my way
And though I may not have him anymore
I always have the experience of the greatest love
Of love uninhibited, abound in the field
Of how he used to smile when I made him laugh
Even though I will never have him
I still carry those memories on...
So when another comes to me
And tells me about her trouble
Of how a boy made her suffer
I'll just tell her what I do
"Yes, it will hurt, and it will probably last.
Pain from such a love is bound to have backlash.
But remember as I do the good times you had,
So that way you never forget the times you had."
Always remember the good times
To ward off the bad...
Thinking I can alleviate a lost and troubled heart
They ask me, "What should I do to make him see?
What should I say to make this one look my way?"
And I want to tell them that it isn't worth the pain
And the hurt and anguish that they will feel

And who am i to coment upon this masterpiece. Let me say you are dedicated to the extreme of a marval. I think Shakespeare is going to have a run for his skull! [Macbeth..get it?]
Anyhow...my Counselor of friends let me say you are a genuis, hope the whole world knows what delights await them here. There is no error here than i can see needs revising so take pleasure in the fact you just struck perfection.
With love,
Ecki

too very true... I understand everyone coming and asking how to be with one person and all it brings back is memories of those times when love was a part of your own life and you want to just tell them they'll get hurt but you don't want to hurt them by saying so... I don't write pretty words of love but I can say I do understand this completely and even if I didn't your words have a way of making everything just so easy to see even if you haven't experienced them you have in a way just by reading what you write...

Wow... this was really good, I think that this is the truest of pains, letting other people experience what has already happened to you. And then when they get hurt, you feel that much worse, and then when they win that love, you feel almost jealous that they got what you couldn't. It's almost a lose lose situation. Wow, I love the poem

That's true, and there is no better way to put it. When they are hurt, you do feel worse, because now they feel what you do, and when they succeed, you envy them, because they have what you can't touch in your wildest dreams. It hurts, but in the end, I think some of us are supposed to end up alone...

This part was superb. It really made the poem. I was going to rate this a 4, but that part changed my mind. Excellent work.

Thank you. I always hope to touch a reader in a way that they never forget my words. This is really the only way I know how. I guess I must be doing it right then.

Seriously, how do you do that? People come to me as well for advice, and even though my heart isn't quite whole anymore, I'm still able to say something of use..thank you for reminding me to remember the good times...

If not for memories, where would we be? We would repeat catastrophes, redo calamities in our history, and forget of all the goodness that our lives held. All I can do is show people that even though you may dislike the person, don't forget the good times. Thanks again.

This is soooo true. My first true love i was forced to stop seeing and there isnt a day that goes by that i dont think about him but rememeber all the good times we had together with a few times that we had our 'bad'. Soo much emotion..its bringing back alot of memories. Loved it. Great job. keep it up! Check out some of my writes?

Thank you. I just know how many times I hear the same thing and I think how lucky people are that they don't have to remember like some people do the bad things that come our way. But thanks. (I'll be over there in a sec.)
