I walk outside
and the Rain caressed my face
Like the touch of an old friend,
Or lover.
We have a relationship,
The rain and I.
A forbidden affair,
If you will.
We both have someone else
To go home to,
But we make time for each other,
Not often, but whenever we can.
He leaps from the heavens
When no one is looking,
And falls to earth
To find me.
Other people run from him,
Hide from him,
Cover themselves from him,
But not I.
I walk with him.
Immerse myself in him.
He covers me,
And I am happy.
Sometimes it's hard and thunderous,
Like deep, passionate love.
And other times,
Like tonight,
He falls gently and sprinkles
Kisses upon my face,
To remind me that he's there,
And that he loves me.
And then he stops, and as I walk
He sits up from the ground
And works his way into
The crevices in the soles of my shoes
Because when you care for someone like that
You want to be close to them
It doesn't matter how or where,
Just as long as you're near them.
And soon this night will end,
And he'll go back to his love in the sky,
And I'll go back to my love,
And we'll be home and content.
And sometimes
Late at night when I'm in bed,
The rain will come and tap on my window
And sing me to sleep.
And we'll never have each other forever,
We couldn't,
He can't live without his heavenly love,
And I can't like without my true love.
And we wouldn't want to.
It's just nice to see each other sometimes,
Check in and make sure we're okay.
And it doesn't matter how much time passes,
We always know the other is there,
Looking, and watching, and waiting,
And when the time is right,
He'll make his leap,
And we'll spend an hour together,
As though no time has passed at all.

thats sooo great!!!!the title attracts the reader to check the poem out and i liked how you viewed the rain as a loving person my favorite part is(Sometimes it's hard and thunderous,
Like deep, passionate love.
And other times,
Like tonight,
He falls gently and sprinkles
Kisses upon my face,
To remind me that he's there,
And that he loves me.)
am sure the rain would be happy with that
, good luck!!!

Simply beautiful.
Thanks for entering my contest, and best of luck

Seems my comment never made it. It was descriptive, but I'll sum it up. I liked this for it's steady flow and simplistic extravagance. Excellent work and good luck in my contest.

It's truly beautiful how you personify rain.
"Sometimes it's hard and thunderous,
Like deep, passionate love.
And other times,
Like tonight,
He falls gently and sprinkles
Kisses upon my face,
To remind me that he's there,
And that he loves me."
Good luck in the contest

amazingly done personification. i like the mixture of imagery, passion, sensuality, and humor that are all exhibited in this poem.

Rain is... Ryann with two nn's, and Alex, and every other love or like I can think of... it's just lacking the solid human form. And really... it's a lot more stable than any "humanoid" type person I can think of... so maybe we should stick to that group marriage instead sometimes?
