Conversing with a Poem

.

.
I spoke to a poem today.
We stood between line breaks
and exchanged small talk;

it whispered to me about love
found hiding behind the rays
of a just waking sun,
about how the beauty of dawn
uncurling
is overshadowed only
by a silhouette of man and woman
tangled into each other

how the wind merely screams bitter
to those unfamiliar
with the way it appreciates
a huddled crowd,
the way it sneaks over
to shake hands with the mailman
bringing christmas greetings

how the stars tiptoe out at night
careful not to disturb
robins left sleeping on bare branches.

Talked directly to a haiku
that didn't mince words,
listened to a parable
that played 'chase me'
with its meaning,
ate lunch with a bukowski
that swore to me of daily life
made more gritty

laid side by side with a sonnet
that lamented the death
of day

and woke again
to watch the mundane
through the eyes of a poem.

"careful not the disturb" -- I believe "the" would be "to".

and maybe leave out 'the curve' altogether.
try it and see what you think.

    clever

tho i think in the third stanza, 'way' needs a 'the' in front of it.
    otherwise, quite excellent i thought.

The world according to a poet is capable of almost anything... I like the hidden beauty within the words and yet the humble tone... Very creative, I enjoyed this alot!

Amazing! I really loved it. The first stanza just made me interested. "I spoke to a poem today-
    stanza to stanza.
    We stood between line breaks
    and exchanged small talk"
It reminded me of the poem "Eating Poetry" By just the concept of poetry being more than just something you read.
But it was gorgeous throughout and very unique and interesting. Great job =)
