Life's Trial

Though it pains me to write
I feel as though I must,
Or beauty's hid by might,
And words become mere dust.

I grow tired of life;
This endless war with strife.
The pressures of life grow,
Man's character to show.

My character is weak.
I'm not ashamed to say.
With each new passing day,
Adding week upon week,

Exhaustion takes me o'er,
My bones become weary,
This fight lasts forever,
And life may be dreary.

But not without the hope,
That I can somehow cope,
And beat life's pressures down
Without trying to drown.

My Lord did promise me
To make all life a trial,
though only for a while,
Till I be in glory.

Please tell me what you think

    Wow!

    The rhyme scheme in this was exquisite. I liked it immensly. This part really hooked me:
    "I grow tired of life;
    This endless war with strife.
    The pressures of life grow,
    Man's character to show. "

    Well done!

    I think that you are doing a great job. Very descriptive and I must say that I liked the imagery that you used (gustatory, tactile, visual, auditory). Great job. The imagery contained in this really lovely style of writing was so refreshing. I like the pattern of the stanzas. I think you did an outstanding job on this poem. Another magnificent poem to your collection. thanks for sharing. Keep up the great work. Best of wishes to you. good luck in all that you do....peace always in all ways.
