photogenic
the word rolls off my tongue
while gazing at old photos
my younger days of innoccence
but memory fades with age
as the pictures fall to the ground
shattering the glass that held me
stars that shone so bright
reminding me of infinite possibilities
now grow dim, binding me
in old flesh scarred with wounds half open
never healed
where was I in those photographs
I could bearly even see me
half blurred and seeking
lost in the mirror of my own eyes
what to seek in darkness
where to look in lies
I long to be painted back into the light
delivered from the clutching shadows
Author notes
Some what a prayer, but mostly title enspired.

I love it.

An intense and deeply reflective poem!
I love:
"the pictures fall to the ground
shattering the glass that held me"
The whole work hits a personal and yet universal level of a state of being we all need to pass through to "be painted back into the light" of the Now we are in...
'Yonger' in the 3rd line should be 'younger', I assume?
Sensitive and creative writing!
Well done!
Cheers!

We all have these moments. These indescribable moments of doubting who we are. Very well done...Trina
