Inland Yearning

Missing image
Good morning you,

smile of verse
who gives this new sun
reason to sigh,

and make my fingers
wish to fly
in doves returning

a feather to sway,

for yours is world,
a world away,

where only wish can gather wistful
in flower of bliss,

as afternoon blushes
with impossible thought,

of distant ships,
around the horn in cape to bare

your shoulder,

subtle touch
to search for shore
and taste this treasure
with hands to wave
in sweet direction

of notice to be filled
with laughter's noise.

For what is life
without the soul to fill this place,

invisible with greatness
given in desire,

holding heart exposed
to wonder,
naked,

in my meadow's chill,

as sea extends to inland yearnings
of hope to soar

when moon has melted.

    in my meadow's chill,

that meadow of yours warms me in every write of yours (for I know now it is your ticket to your dreams and your deepest thoughts , wishes and desires. Meadows eventually touch (even if separated by thousands of miles and a whole bunch of debris)seeds are scattered that way and feathers to fly from one to the other one. Rich you are "Poet Laureate", weaver of words and dreams that embed themselves deep within your readers, and I love your words as well as you (for what you are , stand for and for the joys you bring,
    much love always,
    reenie

What a romantic and slightly sensual write. The reminds me of poetry of old. It flows wonderfully. A very beautiful and inspiring write. Good luck in the contest. Jeannie

Just last night when I went to bed the moon was full and it felt like it has melted and I was laying my head down on a pillow of moon... Such a beautiful poem this is....a poetic sigh, Rich. "For what is life without the soul to fill this place, invisible with greatness given in desire"..and what would life be without sighs and dreams in the sugar of sweet sleep - and beautiful poetry like this? From this side of the world and the Cape of Storms...good morning, you...!

Nic, I've already commented on Rich's poem, my Sister of the Soul...& seen your comments bemoaning your "sleeping words"...Sweetie, you don't even realize, you've already written another poem, Dear Heart: "Just last night when I went to bed the moon was full and it felt like it has melted and I was laying my head down on a pillow of moon..." Take its hand & walk down the gentle path, my Friend...You'll find the rest of it...Rich, you always inspire us all so much...I think this is a wonderful penning, dear Scribe...as I've already told you with my sighs across the parchment... Be well, my dear Friends...I love you both dearly... Wanda/Vlindertjie

This is a wonderful piece, Rich...Such wonderment to fill the eyes of your readers...& such soft sighs will respond...Gorgeous penning, Sweetie...Good luck in the contest...Ahhh, you... Wanda
