Her Path

Missing image
Layered in sacred cloths
she communes with the moon

they are as one

soaking in each other's
vibrations
her face shadowless
in the peak of lunar glow

she sits balanced
embracing all that is

deepening her breaths
as they lay the fire
in the box canyon

heart beat slows

she revels in the power
washing in waves

they place the bitter
upon her tongue.....

it is her path to swallow.

    Incredible

    Merry meet,
Congratulations on winning the Gold. This is a truely inspirational piece, especially in conjunction with with the picture you chose. As far as changing anything or a different word choice.....I don't think I have anything to offer to improve this.

    I love your lines:

    Layered in sacred cloths
    she communes with the moon

    they are as one

This speaks to me so much. It is the way I feel when I commune with my Goddess.

    Your closing lines:

    they place the bitter
    upon her tongue.....

it is her path to swallow

Is true of anyone who follows ideals and beliefs not countance by society and some of the lessons that life can teach. Again, this is an incredible poem and I would be honored to add it to my lists of favorites on my Authors Page. Congratulations again on your win.

'they place the bitter upon her tongue...' very thought provoking line indicating a metaphysical journey into paths of knowing and enlightenment. grounded by fire yet arising in spirit. lovely write. thanks so much for entering and good luck.

That last line just... moved me. This piece as a whole is very clever - and unique. Beautiful sense of imagery within the depth. To me, a sort of rebirth taking place - to accept that which you have been given. Thank you so much for entering and best wishes!
