the image and imagery are both beautiful. I am reading this over and over again ... because I feel there is something lacking in the set up. Somehow I don't grasp winter right away as the word confetti could be leaves of autumn or something. Perhaps if instead of the word a, you used something like "cold or chill or something to show us the confetti is cold ... just a thought. It is beautiful and thank you for entering

Awww...this is cute! I like thinking of snow as confetti! We have about 3" on the ground with more on the way. It might even snow Christmas Eve. Wheee!

    Good Luck in the contest!

    Hi Susan!

Beautiful piece, and it mirrors the pic very well! I've also put something in this contest as I'm feeling very seasonally inspired at the mo'!

Thought I should warn you though, the rules state entries should be in the traditional Haiku measure of 5/7/5 (it's on the contest page), but in yours, the count is 4/6/5. I know when I entered MariGoes' recent contest, she allowed "Short Haiku" (shorter metre/syllabic measure etc), but I'm not sure whether Piccola would, as she has only mentioned 5/7/5 Haiku. Maybe have a word with her just to be on the safe side

Hope you're all ready for a fantastic Xmas and New Year mate

I love the concept in this haiku, although it does not exactly fit the specific rules of one, it is still very well done indeed! The imagery is excellent and I adore that first line:" confetti sky" so beautiful!! Best of luck in this and all of your endeavors. Hetohke'e *

This is so pristine and sugary in flavor, that is the only way to describe the perfect feeling of a wonderful fluffy snowstorm as you have presented it. Best of luck in the contest, this is a lovely seasonal piece with a happy feel, a great day brightener. Bravo.

Very pretty image of a haiku, and I never thought of snow falling as "confetti" before, but it really is such a comparable image, and very fitting too! Not much of a "snow" and "winter" person myself, but to envision this haiku, it's almost a sense of excitement for this winter's first snowfall!

Thank you for this great entry to the contest!

    Gorgeous!

The snow is truly beautiful. Too bad it is so cold. As much as I enjoy the insulated hush after a blizzard, and the beauty of falling snow, I would not want to move back to New York where I would have to shovel it again.

    very beautiful

I love your use of the word confetti, to show the reader how the snow is falling. Taken by surprise, like most of the snowfalls, and it sure can take your breath away, literally.

The picture you chose is really beautiful!

Good luck in the contest Susan.
