This soul here's been thinking
taking his victories with his losses
For years he's traveled down the avenues
Always aware on who's path that he crosses
Now the times change and he seeks a friend
Yes...he's tired of battles being alone
At times he wears sad eyes and a frown
Things like that happen when you're on your own
Now he offers this cup and it's being poured
For he makes a toast and puts it to his lips
The brew he offers is one of love and compassion
Trying to make the swallow of life easy to sip
For its been ages since he's found peace and quiet
Now he seeks the understanding of someone who cares
He's in the autumn of life and figures the time's right
He still has a lot to offer and has a lot to share
Thus this cup is tilted now...the cup's been raised
To salute the beauty of friendship and special love
Not many have the opportunity to share this cup
He smiles as he drink and says a prayer of thanks to above
