On a cold December day long ago
the Angels took my brother away
and I did not even know
I had just found him the year before
after years of searching,
nowhere else to explore
All hope was gone
I was ready to give up
When a letter out of nowhere
appeared from my brother
who was looking for me too
Phone conversation
of 2 hours or more,
could not get enough
we just wanted more
On December 15th we met
for the first time
I was so nervous I thought that
I would go out of my mind
Tears of joy and so
many hugs and kisses
for all the years
that we had missed
Almost a whole year
of memories made
before the lord
took him away
No chance to say goodbye
so many miles between he and I
I sometimes get angry that
our time together was so short
But then I realize that I was lucky and
cherish the memories even more
As each December goes by the
pain never goes away
But I will always thank God
for that cold December day
When you came into my life
and memories were made

The first time you look into each others eyes you will feel at such peace and at home finally. Embrace your brother and hold him tight, tell him how much you love him. My time with my brother was short but I am so happy to have found him, the day we met I felt completely whole for the first time in my life. I miss him and I know he is up in Heaven watching over me now. Good luck and I wish you both all life's happiness.
I wrote this poem for my brother who resides in heaven with the angels now. I know that his spirit is here with me even today. I miss and love him so much. I searched for many years before we would find each other, he was adopted at birth years before I never even knew of him until I was 18 years old, but I always felt like there was a piece of me missing and I know now that it was always my brother who was missing in my life. I am so thankful for the time that we did share.

This is such a heart-felt piece. I'm sorry to hear of your loss, but hold tight to what you did manage to find. It's the little things in life we cherish most, but take for granted most. I'm sure Dennis lives on in your heart, and he watches over you, wanting you to be happy. This is an amazingly beautiful piece!

I'm so sorry for your loss. This piece is very moving, tragic and beautiful. He sounds like he was an incredible human being, for you to write such an amazing poem in his honor. I had almost lost my brother, one I have known all my life. I cannot imagine the anguish it must be to finally find your brother, and then to have the Lord take him away. Phenominal write, very powerful and sad...Nicely done.
