As the snow fills up this mountainside,
I find myself longing to be with you.
To kiss your lips and hold your hand,
the way that I used to do.
I miss you most at Christmas,
the hot chocolate and marshmallows that we used to share.
All of the treats from cookies to cakes,
leaves me wishing that you were still here.
I get down on my knees and say a prayer,
that wherever you are tonight, you are safe and sound.
No matter the distance I want you to know,
that if you ever need me, I will always be around.
You were my Christmas angel,
the light that shone through my darkest days.
You have been my anchor through every storm,
the reason why I am still alive today.
It is your love that has kept me going,
just the thought of you sets my mind at ease.
However, not knowing where you are each day,
makes it difficult for me to achieve.
All of the goals that I have set forth in my life,
the dreams that I had when you were here.
I feel like everything has fallen apart,
all I have left now are my tears.
My love goes out to you this Christmas,
please remember that you still hold a place in my heart.
I have always cherished you and I always will,
even though we are miles apart.
I miss you most at Christmas,
please don't be afraid to come back home to me.
My heart is an open door to yours,
now and for eternity.

Beautiful and Sad
Dear Jeremy,
If the person you wrote this poem to has read this I bet the were amazed. For when I started reading this beautiful piece I had tears in my eyes for I understand the sadness in this poem.People miss loved ones alot around holiday's.Jeremy you have a gift for writing amazing poems. If anyone comes along in life and tells you that your a bad poet don't listen to them.because,Jeremy you write amazing poems. They are all wonderful. And write your poems how you want to write them. Not how every one else wants you to write them.because poems are pieces of art not only on paper it's art spoken from ones true feelings on paper.this is a wonderful read.I enjoyed reading this poem a whole lot Jeremy.
love always your friend ~shirree~<3 a.k.a ~ocean dreams

A SAD BUT VERY BEAUTIFUL PIECE that even an old man can relate to.
It is your love that has kept me going,
just the thought of you sets my mind at ease.
However, not knowing where you are each day,
makes it difficult for me to achieve.
You got right to the heart of the matter with those lines above, my friend - for I felt exactly that way when my first love went away especially but not exclusively on The Holidays! Truly written from the heart and the soul - Brother - where are REAL and ETERNAL poetry comes from! (I love your new HOLIDAY main page - Tell Santa - I've been waiting for him to deliver me news of my first, true love - who is always in my heart - for not knowing if she's alive and well - is the hardest part.)
Peace & Love!
Earl.

Beautifully painted tribute
The flow of this is so perfect and flawless I am in awe of the simple connection of verbiage that makes this so powerful.
The only thing I thought that drew away from it's strength was the reference to tears and crying.
Let people own the power of your words and shed their tears honestly as they feel the power of how you stated this deeply moving write. It felt like canned laughter on a sitcom telling you we should cry instead of feeling the depth. I would leave it open without constraints of physical distance defined. This is the second year celebration without my wife, so I felt it strongly but was held back by the miles as compared to simply distance.
Its your writing though, thats just how it appealed to me.
My love goes out to you this Christmas,
please remember that you still hold a place in my heart.
I have always cherished you and I always will,
even though we are miles apart.
I miss you most at Christmas,
please don't be afraid to come back home to me.
My heart is an open door to yours,
now and for eternity.
Very complete as it stands.
Excellent write Jeremy!

Beautiful
I lost the love of my life, this past February. This is my first Christmas without him...and eventhough I know that he is with God now..and he's never coming back..I still look for him to walk through my door and position himself under my Christmas tree. Crazy..I know. This poem really touched me though. I think you did a beautiful job with it. Thank you so much for sharing.

This is a beautiful poem. Very bittersweet with the memories of Christmas's past - and the love for the person that is not there. This is the time of year many of us remember people that have impacted our lives and are no longer around - wether it is because of distance or death. You have written a very eloquent poem on this topic.

Good
I can relate to this work on a very personal level, for I too have been haunted by the ghost of Christmas past. The Christmas season is most meaningful when it is a shared experience with those you love nestled close. When loved ones are no longer near, the heart bleeds. Just remember, there will be a Christmas future. Look forward to what is yet to come. Good job.

wow my dear and percious friend,
i love this more than i can say.
it is kinda of sad.
and lots of people miss their love ones more during the holidays.
it's something about christmas that is depressing to many, longing to be with the one they love and can't be for whatever reason.
you have done such a lovely job on this poem.
it shows so much emotion, it showes so much love you have for this person.
and yet you hold on to hope, that alone makes the poem even more powerful.
this is an outstanding write.
i really enjoyed this piece.
great job... thanks for sharing.
take care and God bless you and yours..
