I gaze at the reflection in full view.
I don't see brown hair or eyes of blue.
I see a woman whose wisdom has grown in years.
Who survived an abused life for many years.
I don't see my oval face.
I don't see my slender waist.
I only see a woman whose patience never ebbs.
I see a woman who has escaped many tangled webs.
I don't see my beauty although it's clear.
I don't see earrings in my ear.
I see a woman youthful beyond time's kiss.
I see a woman full of bliss.
I don't see my tanned skin.
I don't see my shapely shin.
I see a woman full of knowledge.
I see a mid-life woman going back to college.
I don't strike a sensual pose.
I don't wear the latest clothes.
I see a mother who was timid and shy.
I see a woman with wings to fly.
I see my inner beauty living long.
I sense the drive for knowledge which makes me strong.
I see my heart all full of empathy.
I see a mighty warrior who needs no sympathy.
Author notes
I owe my strength to a higher power.

First, let me thank you for entering my contest.
Second:
This poem was very touching. The flow and imagery was very well done. I suggest you be careful with repeting phrases and or words, it can annoy a reader.
Otherwise, this was good. -
