Songs That Sing Themselves

Events too common cause duress and retaliation disguised as action,

 assimilate scars resulting from wound inflicted .

Actions profoundly imprint savagery;
when preserved in song,
emphasize emotion not possible in verse alone,
pass along bloodlines as not to forget or repeat.

Time being the historian, deeds of heros,
and imaginations of countless generations,
immortalize songs that will sing themselves.

Legends lend themselves to dreams of children,
who in future time, will become the legend of song,
to repeat as events and actions dictate.

Author notes

My interpretation of what Ralph Waldo Emerson may have meant when he said:
“Events, actions arise, that must be sung, that will sing themselves.”

    Very Interesting!

    This one I had to read twice, very interesting perspective, a thinker, I do think! I tend to be rather fond of poetry that makes one think, this to me is an excellent piece of work!

    Very Good!

    This is a profoundly deep work...but in reading it in depth, rings so true...There are traditional songs, that carry with it alot of history and painful memories..and patriotism, and faith. A very good poem!
