Minor

Minor, lesser, in importance,
or rank,
Minority, the new majority,
immigration we have to thank?
Dominant minority?
oxymoron,
majority in disguise,
smallest growing strongest,
HELPLESS,
sees the social do-gooder,
DANGEROUS,
to those of us with eyes.
Minority the powerful Gorgon,
no longer nibbling, gorging,
as he bleats his woes and cares,
so what when he becomes the majority,
will he his new made world with us still share?

Wow. Really makes you stop and think. I suppose I will have to agree with you. Not sure I could of expressed myself quite like you have here! Exellent job of posing some very provoking questions here.

I always like to think about what the native inhabitants of North America thought when they saw their wonderful land being set upon by immigrants from Europe. Then again, North America may not have been settled had people not immigrated to Britain from Rome and changed the way the native population lived.(Boudica put up a hell of a fight, but...well...history).

When the minority becoems the majority, and the majority then is the minority, will is swing once again in a never ending cycle. (I think I hurt my brain there)

Scary Barbs! Rule by the loud inority has always been the Achilles heal of democratic life. Still it is a thoughtful question. Good Poem though!

Hmmm...not sure what to make of this one. As the daughter of immigrants myself, I'm going to politely keep my opinions to myself.

I must disagree with you Barb on this one... we, the middle class and the rich need the poor as a resource to do the human thing that we are not willing to do. They are "mahvalous" until they become to many and then we whine about them and, as in Rome, they sink the ship. We have no one to blame but ourselves!

Unfortunately, the minority has the reins of power firmly in its sweaty grasp, at least in this country. And we are the beast that has to bear that burden in the guise of democracy. Well done my friend.

    Sincerely,

Not bloody likely. He'll make sure everybody knows it's his and rule it with a tight fist.
Wake up! These minorities that are creeping across the world are fast becoming the majority and once they link up we'll be in deep shit.
Hate to sound paranoid, but it's all part of the big plan... and going very well for them so far.
