Magic Christmas Bells

We pass on so much junk from one email to another, why not something that might warm a heart that is down? Please pass it on under bcc so as not to allow others to view emails. This is my annual tradition and on behalf of my grandbaby #1 and I, we thank you whether you pass it on or not. I hand out this piece at the homeless kitchen and others, when I can afford to print it up, but without the picture. One has to beware of preditors these days and everyday.

Magic Christmas Bells (12/22/01)

To Kaylah, may she always have Magic Christmas Bells

As my granddaughter
waved about her 'magic wand'
with its streamers
flying in the air
She told me:
"Nana, these are magic bells
just for you for Chrissamus"
A smile touched my face
and sparkle to my eyes
"Thank you" I told her
My heart and soul sang
with an old song
born anew
of Christmas and its meaning
that I once knew
Forgotten were my troubles
and a wish now in their stead:
That ALL may feel the magic
of those Christmas Bells

This is the season of the majority of holidays for the year. It is during this time, they say, that most people end up suffering from a depression that can be severe enough for them to either contemplate or commit suicide. In keeping that thought in mind, I have since the creation of this poem…inspired by my granddaughter’s words and wishes for me during my holiday depression that year…to give this out to as many people as possible that they might find a bit of cheer at her words! Please help me to keep the tradition going. If you, or anyone you know, is depressed or needs a bit of hope for this coming holiday season…Give them a copy of this, with her and my blessings and wishes for same. Pass on the ‘bells’!!!

'Merry Chrissamus' and happy holidays to you.

    Provocative...

...for your readers sake!! Yes. it is so sad and disheartening that this happens everytime, every year. Especially Thanksgiving, Christmas and New years. Your thoughts truly lay this out for us. Thankyou, for sharing this wonderful piece of such rememberance, that we should thank everyone and everything that surrounds our life all throughout the year!!

You have such an inventive style! Very unique and quite refreshing! There is such an amazing power in the imagery you have woven into this piece - so very surreal. I really enjoyed this... It made me stop and think. That is something that really makes for a fantastic read. To slow down, and enjoy something fresh and vivid.there is no doubt you are in control of your pen and know just where to take us. Great piece!

      Thanks, Misty Melody.

Problems are always a part of life...especially in the 'holiday seasons'. Just remember the 'bells' and let their magic work on you...lol. They lessen, I have found, the depth of the problems while lifting me up. Shoot...neighbors hear me humming all the seasonal music from July on . 'Merry Chrissamus' and happy holidays to you. rose

william foos, sounds like you loved the bells!

'Merry Chrissamus' and happy holidays to you. Glad you had fond memories of the magic of bells. Actually, I believe bells of all kinds have a daily magic when you hear them. I love hearing churches peal their lovely music, even if I personally don't believe in religious dogma...I am spiritual, however, with a heavy belief in angels and Jesus. rose

    Lovely bells!

This was just beautiful! Your Kaylah gave me a huge smile with her "Chrissamus" line. This is so touching and does certainly warm the heart and spirit. It uplifts and, for that, it is priceless. Many blessings to you and yours this 'Chrissamus' (that's so cute) and all good things. May the 'bells' ring forever. Beautiful! ~ noonesfool

What a wonderful tradition! I know a few people close to me who suffer from the Seasonal Depression and it really is such a tough time for them. So nice that you would think of them. Sincerely, Mary

'Merry Chrissamus' and happy holidays to you. I get seasonal depression myself. This is a hard year after two years not so bad...lol. As a tradition, I may be prejudice being as it's inspired from a real incident with my #1 grandbaby when she was small, but as long as I live...I will pass it on in the hopes that it does make some people's days rose

I didn't expect much, but wow. That's really pretty, and it did cheer me up a little. A small break from depression is always good. Thanks for that!
