When first we touched we knew our ardor
Was always meant to be
We never knew how much harder
It would be for us to be free
You being from the land
And I from the depth of the sea
Tis something that we can’t understand
Our love was to be our guarantee
We knew the trials that we would face
At least we thought we did
And so our love we did embrace
Yet the waves forbid
Punishment we chose to take
Rather than to leave each other’s side
Our love was not a mistake
So our life has been denied
So here we sit together
For all infinity
Exposed always to the weather
Close in our affinity
We never leave each others side
Deformed in other’s sight
Our separate worlds collide
But every thing’s alright
Our love may be forbidden
But forever we’ll sing our song of love
Our love no longer hidden
So utterly undreamed of
So we sit beside the sea
Forever etched in stone
Our appearance deformed but free
For our love we will not atone
Our song of love lives on
As we sit beside the sea
In our hearts we know we have won
Our spirits now are free
