A Child Is Born

Missing image
A CHILD IS BORN

Whistling wind, inside a manger,
A baby will be born this day.
Giving refuge to a stranger,
Three wise men will travel to pray.

Leading them a star shining bright,
Town of Bethlehem they are bound.
The ox and lamb stand watch this night,
From the stable comes a sweet sound.

Born this night, a child, a king,
The son of God this baby boy.
On high we can hear angels sing,
Virgin Mary, blessed with joy.

Sing out songs of jubilation,
Be glorious and give God praise.
This child shall be man's salvation,
Jesus, in the manger he lays.

Star shine bright upon the stable.
Whistling wind swirls round the gable.

    Masterful

    Oh Sandy
This is so beautiful After hosting a contest and writing a poem that had some fun twists with Christmas Carols, I felt a warmth in my heart in reading your piece. Christmas has become so much of a holiday to benefit the economy over the years, which is really very sad. Thank you for bringing back the real meaning of Christmas in this wonderful poem

The poem flowed so smoothly with your talented artistic way in rhyming in the abab format that I find difficult to do most of the time. The most amazing part of your poem is your imagination to take "Whistling Wind" and produce a masterful piece about the birth of baby Jesus. You are such an inspirational, heatwarming person. Good Luck in the contest!
    Much Love
    God Bless
    Bo

      TO A SPECIAL PERSON

      My sweet friend Sandy
I enjoy commenting on other poems a much as I do writing them. This is the teacher in me. However, you make commenting very easy and a special moment for me. Typically, my comments are in dept in your writes because both the passion you have and the unique amazing abitly to capture one's heart in a poem is astonishing.

Students get interest because they see me involved in poetry but are intimidated, which is typical when begining new endeavours. They wonder why a math specialist has a pssion for poetry. I show them some writes of mine and my favorites. I warn them, don't be intimidated by my favarorites. These poets are brilliant but so kind to respond to comments and make you feel good. They are here to encourage others and find new friends.

Sandy, you are one of the sweetest individuals that I have met during a year that has been so hard on me. Reading your writes not only made me a better poet but I consider you a mentor and good friend. You masterful write are perfect examples of how to show our feelings from our minds to our pens. We learn from others as others learn mathematics from me. I stride to do my best in writing now, but most importantly, I HAVE FUN. I can release the painful moments but also bring a smile to others.
Have a blessed and wonderful weekend
      Much love
      Bo

    Yaaaaay...!!!

...Christmas is coming...and His name is Jesus! This is a really delightful poem. You got me in the mood, young girl.

I was writing a Christmas song that I've been holding until December...uh...tomorrow. So you'll probably see it then.

Thank Jesus for Christmas! Once I got saved, I feel even more like a child during this time of year. More as in I feel young all the time.

    Yaaay! Christmas is coming!!!!

Such a humble beginning and birth He had... kinda gives me hope... for me!

This is beautiful Sandy... I hope that we all remember Him in this season... it's not all about 'receiving'... it's about giving... it's about Christ...

Every Christmas I made a cake and had a ceramic 'baby Jesus' on the top of it... that's all it had on it... and before my kids opened their presents... we sang happy birthday to Him.. may sound kind of corny... but it was our tradition... my way of focusing on Him instead of presents... after that... I'd read from Luke...

short and simple... but the kids knew why I celebrated Christmas...

I'm glad and pleased to read that you are keeping Him the ocus this year... may you ever be blessed! This is a lovely piece...

    ~Melissa
