The devil steals few souls
with wild promises of great things
but gets most by slowly nurturing
the neglect of freely given love
such love is replaced with
merchantile attention
carrot on a stick
unmet expectations and blame
based upon debt and guilt
where desires of the self
trump the needs of the soul
and attention is valued over grace
the contract is fulfilled
before the seller even knows
what they have lost or even
what it was that is gone

You left me Speechless AGAIN !!!
Wow, Allan, this one was VERY close to home... You have a way with words, that reaches into anothers soul, deep within...
All I can say is, that this was truly brilliant...
Keep that pen flowing with ink that never fade...

Speechless in South Africa...
Well sweetie, deep inside everyone's soul is exactly the same thing. So to look inside of anyone you need only look inside yourself. I never use a pen. Takes too long. I type on the computer. That way it can be saved, edited, reproduced, published, read and commented on PDF! (pretty darned fast) Thanks for your comments.
