The Streptococcus Song

I want a Streptococcus germ for Christmas
Only a Streptococcus germ, Oh please ?
I don't want the croup
E-Coli  or the fleas
I want a streptococcus
It's such a cool disease

I want a streptococcus germ for Christmas
Only a Streptococcus germ will do

I Don't want the mumps,
Rubella, gout or flu
I want a Streptococcus
Please could you make that two

I want a Streptococcus germ for Christmas
Only a Streptococcus germ I said

I don't want the cramps
while laying in my bed
I want a streptococcus
a strain that really spreads

I want a Streptococcus germ for Christmas
Only a Streptococcus germ for me

I don't want a rash
Or hepatitis B
I want a Streptococcus
Not just an allergy

I want a Streptococcus germ for Christmas
I hope I get a really hefty brute

I don't want H I V
It simply wouldn't suit
I want a streptococcus
It has to be acute

I want a Streptococcus germ for Christmas
A streptococcus really is a must

I don't want the thrush
but something vile, I trust
I want a streptococcus
It really must disgust

I want a Streptococcus germ for Christmas

I'm sure a Streptococcus is the best
I don't want a cold
or post traumatic stress
I want a streptococcus
Not lumps upon my chest

I want a Streptococcus germ for Christmas
But wait is that a rocking horse I see

I want to change my mind
Oh can I change my plea?
Don't want a streptococcus…
…after all, I'm only three

This is a wonderful poem! I can imagine Stewie on 'Family Guy' reciting or singing it.

WHOA, LMAO!! This is hilarious, and a trult clever parody of thea hippopotamous song I've been hearing so much of lately. Congratulations on winning the golden goblet with this outrageous satire. Just what the doctor ordered in these dismal days following the frenzied holiday season.

This was delightful! I appreciate your taking the time to get the spelling of the assorted diseases correct, so it did not detract from the enjoyment of the piece. I could not find an obvious correct link from the strep media.putfile.coms. The final (of the original) worked well. You gave a great take on the prompt. Congrats on the gold!

Glad you enjoyed. I was aware (as was the contest holder, Galfalfa) that there were problems with the audio link to the Streptococcus Song. The problem laid with Putfile, but it has been corrected and is now playable. You may need to select 'run Active X'
      Thanks for the kind comment.

He he! Very funny! That's the virus that gives you a sore throat (or flesh eating bug) isn't it? I'll probably end up with it this winter whether I want it or not!

    Cute

The rhyming is divine - Can a 3-year-old say streptococcus? I can't even spell it! It's adorable. Like the use of the red and green, as well!

Ha! No wonder you got the Gold!

(I can't help but read all your stuff with a Welsh accent~ and SINGING with a Welsh accent is even more of a challenge! )

What can I hope to expect, but the very best of rhymes, Sir? Do you unconsciously rhyme when you write your financial reports, perchance?!

Lovely, witty, inventive, bouncing your reader along nicely...what more can one say? Brill!

Ha ha, this is very funny! I suppose "Streptococcus" does sound as if it might be a prehistoric monster, or a large animal of some kind. As said previously it goes so well with the music. Well done WD. Another "funtasic" read.

    Ok, here you go,

This is superbly crafted ...what a laugh ! Loved this! Fits perfectly with the tune ...had to highlight the green font, may just be my monitor but it was too bright to read. A fine example of what a kid would ask for without really knowing what he's asking for :D

Thank you for entering my contest!
